Saturday, January 11th 2020 beloved father, brother, grandfather, and irreplaceable friend, Billy Romero Matthews passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Cottonwood, Alabama.
He leaves behind four daughters and one son: Kristy Wheeler, Dana Kinard, Hannah Ray Brooke Matthews, Allison Greene, and Billy Matthews. He had nine grandchildren: Zaiden, Cole, Landon, Brent, Macee, Camden, Zoey, Patience, and Mila Kate.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Moran and father, Billy Matthews.
He was a man of unshakeable faith, who loved God and his family limitlessly. Nothing made him more happy than watching his children grow up and raise babies of their own.
They say this, too, shall pass,
They say grief eventually fades.
But those sayings are of little comfort
When you're living through such sad days.
They say that time heals all,
And this much I know is true.
So hang in there, my dearest friend,
And together we'll see this through
