He departed this life on October 9, 2019, at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama.
He was born to the late Russell and Inell Stevens. One sister preceded him in death, Mary Lee Toliver.
He served in the United States Army for sixteen years. He was a faithful member at Arms of Faith, humbly serving as a Sunday/Bible School teacher and diligently attending to both logistical and personal needs of the congregation as a whole.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Elois Powell Stevens; to this union two children were born.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Elois Powell Stevens; three children: Stacy (Amanda) Moses, Baltimore, Maryland, Andre (Cynthia) Powell and Shenequa Powell, Blakely, Georgia; two stepchildren: Charles (Alicia) Powell, Dothan, Alabama and Melody (Jonathan) Jay, Blakely, Georgia; he has twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Freddie Toliver of Blakely, Georgia and Clarence (Jackie) Stevens of Augusta, Maine; nine sisters: Frankie Mae Griffin of Dothan, Alabama, Mary “Betty Lu” Wimbush, Dorothy Early, Beverly Ann Reed, Doris (Curtis) Lindsey all of Blakely, Georgia, Elouise Wimbush of Albany, Georgia, RuPearl (Rick) Sharpe of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Catherine Stevens of Jacksonville, Florida, Gloria Thomas of Arlington, Georgia; one uncle: L.Z. Adams; one aunt: Shirley Adams both of Edison, Georgia; two aunts: Willie Lee Bowman and Lizzie Mae Teal both of Cairo, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
