Neal Freeman, Jr. Obituary

Neal Freeman Jr. was born July 17, 1935, in Colquitt, Miller County, Georgia, to the late Neal Freeman Sr. and Orma Mae Price Freeman.

He accepted CHRIST at an early age and became a member of White Star Missionary Baptist Church. After the closing of the church, Neal became a member of Third Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. In recognition of his years of service to the church and in honor of being the oldest male, he was granted the title of Honorary Deacon in 2017.

Neal Freeman, Jr. attended school at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He later became a farmer, retiring in 2008. Neal married his wife, Claudine Daniels Freeman, on December 2, 1956. From this union four children were born.

Neal Freeman, Jr. was known as "Mank" and was loved by many, especially his grandchildren. He was a "jack-of-all-trades". Mank was the old man who showed his love for you more with actions rather than words.

Neal departed his earthly life on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at his home in Colquitt, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brothers Willie Freeman and Johnny B. Freeman, his sisters Mildred Baxter, Ella Mae Freeman, Bessie Mae George, Senella Rogers and Freddie Mae Freeman, his son Simmie Freeman, his daughter Lettie M. Freeman, and his special granddaughter April Burns.

He leaves a legend of love and final memories to be cherished by his loving wife of 63 years, Claudine Freeman, and his children: Donald "Duck" Freeman, Gwen "Gwunda" Freeman, Beverly "Belba" Chapman, all of Colquitt, GA, Harold "Hal" Freeman (Evon) of Bainbridge, GA, and Greg Daniels of Salinas, CA. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and numerous godchildren.
