Mrs. Pearlee was born in Blakely, Georgia to the late Mr. Frazier and Mrs. Georgia Sapp on August 1, 1914. One of five children, Mrs. Pearlee was taught at an early age the importance of God, family and hard work.
The following values instilled in Mrs. Pearlee were cherished and implemented in her Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Ralph Gilbert. To this blessed union nine children were born; four whom- Pearline, Percy, Willie Ralph, and Willie Dean – preceded her in death.
A Christ centered woman, Mrs. Pearlee gave her life to the Lord at an early age when she joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. A membership she held and valued until her passing.
Known by all as a supportive, committed, and loving matriarch, Mrs. Pearlee’s strength served many family and friends during life’s triumphs and challenges.
She also enjoyed opening her home her home to others. It was a place where many found great comfort enriched with true southern hospitality and homemade culinary delights, such as biscuits and pineapple cakes. A tradition we all will miss.
