A TIME TO BE BORN...ALFRED B. BROWN SR. was born November 15, 1934, in Blakely, Georgia, to the late Benjamin Brown and the late Maria Brown Kennon.
A TIME TO SOW… Brother Brown accepted Christ as his LORD AND SAVIOR at an early age. He joined Jerusalem AME Church, where he served regularly. He was truly a God-fearing man.
A TIME TO REAP… Brother Brown attended Early County Public School System. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Vera L. Brown; they were blessed with eight children. He worked for the City of Blakely and was a faithful and dedicated employee for fifteen years later retiring.
A TIME TO REST… On Friday, March 29, 2018 at Donalsonville Hospital in Donalsonville, Georgia, he quietly transitioned from this earthly life to be forever with the LORD. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Fannie Lee Brown; three sisters: Jessie Murl Wright, June Oliver and Cornelia Brown; and one brother, Robert Brown.
A TIME TO MOURN… He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his wife, Vera L. Brown; four daughters Bobbie Jean Davis (Ronnie) of Boykin, Georgia, Mary Diane Hernandez of Hartford, Connecticut, Ramelle Freeman (Ralph) of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and Sandra Wade (Charlie) of Blakely, Georgia; four sons: Sammie Cooper (Tonji) of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, George “Billy Boy” Brown of Blakely, Georgia, Alfred Brown Jr. (Teresa) of Killeen, Texas and Kenneth Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mattie J. Young (Jimmy) and Doris Young (Lester), both of Albany, Georgia; three brothers: Jerry Kennon of Blakely, Georgia, Claudia B. Kennon (Linda), and Leroy Kennon, both of Newark, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
