On October 8, 2017, at 2:45 a.m., THE LORD called our loved one, ANNIE RUTH GRAY, Home. Annie Ruth Gray was born to the late Rosie Lee Dawson and David Filmore on September 23, 1938, in Blakely, Georgia. She was one of nine children.
Annie Ruth married the late Grady Gray. Together they had five children.
She moved to Florida in 1971, where she started working as a domestic engineer. She retired in 2000. Annie Ruth was a loyal member of Jerusalem African Methodist Episcopal Church.
She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered as a soft-spoken, kind-hearted, genteel lady.
In addition to her parents and husband preceding her in death, Annie Ruth had two brothers, Arthur J. Flowers and Jessie J. Filmore, and one grandchild, Patricia Gray, to precede her in death.
Annie Ruth leaves to mourn and treasure her memories five children: Robbie Moore (Solomon), Grady A. Gray Jr. (Annie B), Billy Gray (Faye), John Gray, and Willie Gray, all of Orlando, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three sisters: Rosetta Filmore, Palestine Dawson Sims, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Johnnie P. Johnson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three brothers: David Filmore Jr. of Blakely, Georgia; Willie C. Filmore (Marion) of Orlando, Florida, and Houston Dawson (Labelle) of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: O.C. Gray (Mattie), Vera Brown (Alfred), and Mamie Gray, all of Blakely, Georgia; and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
