Brian Jefferis Obituary

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 7th, 2022, at his home with family and friends.

Brian C. Jefferis was born September 17th 1958, in Wilmington, Delaware.

He was adopted and raised by William and Roberta Jefferis along with his siblings, Denise Devine (deceased), Lynn Hershey (Skip), and Steven Jefferis (Kathleen). Brian recently found his biological family, 3 brothers, Tom Dougherty (Anna), Greg Phillips (Julio), Mike Dougherty (deceased), two sisters, Judy Garcia and Patty Cross (Pat).

Brian passed away peacefully at home Feb 7th surrounded by his family, his wife of 27 years, Shirley Jefferis, two daughters, Amber Sapp (Cyle) and Danyelle Wentzell (Kris), four grandchildren, Kali, Mackenzie, Harper and Coleman, sister-in-law, Theresa Clayton (Fred) and brother-in-law, Wendell Davis (Elaine), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Brian graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1975 then went to Pfeiffer University on a swimming scholarship followed by a 30-year career in banking. After retiring to Blakely, Georgia Brian went to work as the feed store manager at the Piggly Wiggly - a job he loved. He also loved hunting, fishing, farming pecans, goats and chickens, competition BBQ (2013 Delaware State Chicken Champion), telling stories and jokes.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blakely where he enjoyed volunteering his time especially at the children’s summer camp.

He always had a positive outlook and loved his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
