Corrie Tinson was born August 6, 1938, in Early County, Georgia, to the late Ellen and Hamp Tinson, Sr.
He received his early education in the school system of Early County. He was employed as a Truck Driver with John Deere Tractor Company until his retirement.
Corrie accepted Christ at an early age and served as a Steward faithfully at Saint John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Blakely, GA and traveled with the prayer band until his health failed. He later moved his membership to Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Well known for his fervent soul-stirring prayers, Corrie was a God-fearing man whose love for Christ was exemplified in his parenting and walk of life. He taught his children and grandchildren Christian love.
Corrie Tinson was called Home on Friday, February 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Tinson (Aretha) who was the father of Andrea and Amya; daughter-in-law Shilisa Echols Freeman (Corrie); sisters Mattie C. Jackson, Wylene George and Ruth Walker; and brothers Joe Lewis Tinson, Willie Tinson, Wilkie Tinson and Charles Tinson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Annie Florence Tinson; daughters: Mishell Pittman, Gloria Flowers (Keith), Ellen Miller (Teddy), Carol Smith of Orlando, Florida, Barbara Reddick and Charlotte Bryant of Albany, Georgia; sons: Scot Tinson (Stephanie) of Orlando, Florida, David Tinson, Corrie Freeman, Lewis Freeman (Carolyn), and Bobby Freeman (Brenda); sister Lila Pitts Toson (James); brother, Hamp Tinson Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
