Deloris Bankston Mosley, also known as "Jelly", was born on November 2, 1949, to Percy and Mildred Bankston in Blakely, Georgia. She was the oldest of six siblings. Her mom Mildred, also known as "Honey", later moved her and the family to Miami, Florida. In 1965, Jelly met her Prince Charming, Mr. Willie Lee Mosley Sr., and the two were married, and the rest is history. To this union seven children were born and five children were adopted.
Deloris fulfilled several important roles while here on earth as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, counselor, Missionary of the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST and mentor to her late husband Willie Sr., children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, business women, saints and strangers. Mommy loved all people just like her SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. If you were hungry, call Jelly and she could whip up a meal out of almost anything; and it was guaranteed to be finger-licking good.
Deloris was baptized in JESUS’ Name and filled with the precious gift of THE HOLY GHOST, as recorded in Acts 2:38, at Highway Church of Apostolic Faith in Miami, Florida, under the pastorate of Mother Laura Belle. She worked faithfully as a Choir Member and Missionary.
Deloris loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She would talk, mentor, sing and encourage her grandchildren with the importance of prayer, doing the right thing, telling the TRUTH, and loving GOD and HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. Pray always, for prayer works. Mother always talked about JESUS and the importance of serving HIM in spirit and truth.
Deloris departed her earthly life on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Emory Saint Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Preceding her in death were her father Percy Bankston, mother Mildred "Honey" Bankston, and husband Willie Lee Mosley Sr.
Deloris leaves to cherish her memories five daughters: Brenda Evans (Fernando), Angela Richardson (Thomas), Tarnisha Mosley, Lavette Mosley, and LaKeisha Mosley; seven sons: Willie Lee Mosley Jr., Tracy Mosley (Lawanda), Kevin Mosley, Antonio Mosley (Edwanna), Curtis Mosley, Martell Mosley, and Devon Mosley; eighteen grandchildren; two sisters, Ladora Bankston and Beverly Feacher; three brothers: Albert Bankston (Bobbie), Milton Bankston (Betty), and Danny Feacher (Brenda); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
