Doris Evelyn (Stringer) Dixon

Sister Doris Evelyn Dixon was born on January 17, 1939, to the late Sanders Stringer and Georgian L. Stringer.  Sister Doris went peacefully and departed to Glory to meet her HOLY FATHER on early Thursday morning, April 1, 2021, at Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely, Georgia.

Sister Doris was one of nine children.  Her siblings were Melvin, Cornell, Felton C., Harvey L., Freddie L., Ola, Evans, Marie and Ruthie.

Sister Doris accepted THE LORD at an early age.  She served faithfully as a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Blakely, Georgia.  She received her education at Washington High School in Blakely.

Sister Dixon was married to the late Reverend Eddie N. Dixon, Pastor of Enon Missionary Baptist Church.  They were together for thirty-five years before his demise.

She leaves to cherish here loving memories three children:  Alvin Dereck Tharp (Lawanda) of Blakely, Georgia, Reverend Lenorris Dixon of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Sharon Dixon Cunningham (Kendal) of Huntsville, Alabama; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; other sorrowing family members; and friends.
