Eddie Samuel Wright, affectionately known as “Fast Eddie”, was born on September 23, 1950, in Blakely, Georgia, to the late Jack and Inell Idlett Wright. Eddie was the ninth of thirteen children in the Wright Family and was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jack Wright and Theo Ash-Shaheed, and three sisters: Velma Jean Wright, Maderia Conway, and Carolyn Jones.
Eddie attended Washington High School in Blakely, graduating in 1968, before continuing his education at Fort Valley College in Fort Valley, Georgia. His early years were marked by a deep commitment to faith and family, as he became a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Bluffton, Georgia, where he accepted CHRIST as his Personal SAVIOR. Later, Eddie became an active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Blakely under the leadership of Reverend Cleveland Sanders.
Throughout his life, Eddie worked with dedication and passion, retiring from Habasit America in Atlanta, Georgia, after many years of service. Known for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit, Eddie made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Eddie leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered for his laughter, kind heart, and unwavering faith.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Antonio Hart, Maurice Hart, and Micheal Allen (Teneasha); daughter, Ebony Gales; four grandchildren: Maurice Hart Jr., Zenobia Hart, Royal Allen, and Yanis Allen; five brothers: Robert Wright, Elton Wright, Herman Wright (Luthenya), Curtis Wright (SharRon), and Vincent Ash-Shaheed (Lawanda, deceased); two sisters, Juanita Himes and Sarah Wright Slocum (Bobby); brother-in-law, Albert Jones; sister-in-law, Mattie Wright; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
