Mr. Genie Mills Jr. was born on January 16, 1951, to the late Mr. Genie Mills, Sr. and Mrs. Ella Ree Mills. He was the youngest of their six children.
Genie received his formal education in the Early County School System. He attended Washington High School, which was integrated to the Early County High School, from where he graduated in 1969. Upon graduation, he completed an Associate Degree in Accounting. His career paths led him to work as a paraprofessional at Early County Middle School for several years. Once retired from the school system, he took on a position as a night-shift security guard for Georgia Pacific.
From his youth until THE LORD called him Home, Genie was a faithful member of his home church, Good Hope African Methodist Episcopal. As a devoted servant to Good Hope, he served in multiple capacities. He was the Sunday School Superintendent and a trustworthy steward at his family church and was the Secretary for the Cedar Springs Circuit. Anything he could do to support his church, he was ready, willing and able to step up and get it done.
On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, our beloved Genie departed from this life into eternity.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Minne Mills Johnson (Eulie).
Remaining to cherish his legacy are one brother, Henry Alfred Mills (Ozetta); three sisters: Emma Jean Nettles (Allen), Betty J. Mills, and Glynda Ree Harris (Richard); along with a host of nieces, nephews, close cousins, and loved ones.
