Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of his Spirit, washed in His blood
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
Ilene Price Wade “Teet,” was born August 14, 1934 in Early County, Georgia to George and Irene Price. Being the oldest of 8 children, she quickly developed a nurturing spirit as she assisted her parents by cooking and caring for her siblings. Ilene received her education in Early County. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a committed member of Saint Maryland Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Lynnwood Wade and from this union, they were blessed with one child, Bernice Richardson. Ilene worked as a domestic and continued that line of work until the age of 83. She quickly became famous for her biscuits and her sweet potato pies. She was also known for her impeccable ability to iron with a quality that was better than the professionals. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning/food preservation. She also enjoyed caring for the children of the families she worked with and loved them as if they were her own. She became affectionately known as “Tee,” “Tee Mama,” or “Mama Tee.
