Isiah D. Powell, affectionately known as “Zay”, was born May 10, 1990, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Theresa Powell and Carl Jackson. He accepted THE LORD and dedicated his life to CHRIST at an early age at Ray of Hope Christian Church in Decatur, Georgia.
Isiah attended the Early County Public School System. He graduated in the Class of 2008 at Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Stonecrest, Georgia.
Isiah found much joy and pleasure in spending time with his son Cameron Powell, his family and his friends. He loved watching cartoons and sports and playing video games. Isiah found a career as a Heating and Air Technician with Georgia Power. He was always passionate about being loyal!
Isiah transitioned on Monday, October 12, 2020, in Ellenwood, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his aunt Louisa Powell and his uncles James Powell and Zeke Powell.
Isiah is survived by his loving mother, Theresa Powell; father, Carl Jackson; only child, Cameron Powell (Jasmine); three brothers: Fredrick Powell, Dedrick Powell (Nikki), and Carl Jackson Jr. (Ericka); three sisters: Melanie Hention (Jerrick), Angela Branchter (Leon), and Raquel Brown (Judeah); one nephew, Desmond; three nieces: Tamaya, Makayla, and Serenity; a very special friend, Erica Keels; a special brother, Alvin Jerrod Powell (Raven); a very special father figure, Ben “Daddy Ben” Leonard; aunts and uncles: Stella Gwaltney (Arthur), Robert Powell (Theresa), Jacquelyn Robinson (Eugene), Aaron Powell, Fannie Powell, Henry Powell (Sharon), Barbara Powell, Wanda Jallow, Marie Hopson (Douglas), Emma Lou Gilbert (Johnny), and Hezzie Collins (Louise); two great aunts; two great uncles; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; and his bff, Ankey.
