John Lewis Griffin, Sr., 86, of Blakely, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
He was born February 5, 1939, in Tuskegee, Alabama, to Annie Bighem and Booker T. Griffin.
John worked as a mechanic and did farming until he became disabled. His hobbies and interests included grilling and fixing things.
He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Eloise King, his brothers Charles Bigham and Bernard Bingham; his sisters Barbara Bingham and Robbie Bingham, and his grandparents William and Hattie Green.
He is survived by his children: Annie Mard of Connecticut, Barbara Thomas (Lorenzo) of Dothan, Alabama, Debra Griffin, John Griffin Jr., James Griffin, Dextar Griffin, Darrick Griffin, and Lamarcus Griffin, all of Blakely, Georgia; twenty-seven grandchildren; brother, Roland Bruce Bigham of Panama City, Florida; sister, Vera Thomas (James) of Dothan, Alabama; and other relatives and friends.
