Larodo Rogers was born on March 25, 1981, in Blakely, Georgia, to Peggy Rogers-Igles and Barney Lee Igles, Jr. He departed his earthly life on February 23, 2024, in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Larodo was educated through the Early County School System and was part of the Early County High School Class of 1999. He graduated from police academy in Selma, Alabama, in 2003. He served as a law enforcement officer for five-plus years, serving in Houston County, Midland City, Louisville and Newton, Alabama. He then went on to work in the construction and maintenance industry.
Larodo was a devout Christian and firm believer in the Word of GOD, always willing to lend a kind, comforting word or prayer in times of need. He was very friendly and outgoing, easily labeled the life of the party. He had an extraordinary sense of humor. A huge Georgia Bulldogs fan, he would spend most Saturdays watching the games and yelling “How ‘Bout Them Dawgs”. He loved spending time with his children, family and friends.
Larodo’s presence will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father Barney Lee Igles Jr., maternal grandparents Joe Grady and Emma Rogers, paternal grandparents Barney Igles, Sr. and Mary Evans, and aunt Josephine Taylor.
Larodo leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Peggy Rogers-Igles of Blakely, Georgia; three beautiful children: Trenton “Cody” Rogers (Elizabeth) of Duluth, Georgia, (mother, the late Mandy McCarley), Christian Rogers of Carrabelle, Florida (mother, Sabrina Rogers), and Malaysia Rogers of Burnsville, Minnesota (mother, Sara Toews); two sisters, Karlicia Rogers and Bonnie Rogers, both of Blakely, Georgia; three aunts: Rebecca George (Amos), Betty Brown, and Karen George, all of Blakely, Georgia; and seven uncles: Billy Joe Rogers, Jimmy Jinks, both of Blakely, Georgia, Richard Rogers of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Herman Rogers of Thomasville, Georgia, Zell Rogers of Moultrie, Georgia, Troy Rogers of Headland, Alabama, and Larry Bankston of Columbia, Maryland. He also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends.
