Leroy “Lee” McCoy was born toWillie Joel and Needa McCoy on June 11, 1951, in Blakely, Georgia. He departed this earthly life September 7, 2020.
At an early age, he joined Oak Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church. Leroy attended and graduated from Washington High School (Blakely) as part of the Class of 1969.
For several years, Leroy worked as a Millwright with Crown Cork & Seal (Atlanta, Georgia). When the plant closed, he joined and retired from DeKalb County Maintenance Department as a Vehicle Repair Operator. Leroy had a passion for repairing and rebuilding cars and trucks. People from all across Georgia would seek his expertise.
He leaves to mourn his passing a loving wife Mary Ann; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Kishia Snow of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, LaTorcia Snow of Las Vegas, NV, and Josh Snow of Atlanta, GA; brothers and sisters: John McCoy (Mattie) of Aliquippa, PA, Lillie George of Blakely, GA, Vinella Cody of Decatur, GA, Ruben McCoy (Wanda) of Conyers, GA, Alex McCoy, and Gracie Worlds, both of Blakely; a “sister-in-heart”, Sandra Moore (Bruce) of Stone Mountain, GA; sisters-in-law, Glenda Snow Atkinson and Stella Snow, both of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Clyde Snow of Atlanta, GA; and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends with special memories of Leroy. He will be greatly missed by all of us!
