Louella Thornton was born to Fannie Thornton and Eddie Gene Thornton on November 30. 1932, in Blakely, Georgia. She was one of nine children; five of whom–Roosevelt, Willie, Eugene, Minnie and Eddie Gene Thornton Jr.–preceded her in death.
Louella worked as a Housekeeper for the Mock Family for many years. She departed this earthly life at her home in Blakely on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
She leaves to cherish her memories one child, Fannie Reed (Walter) of Blakely, Georgia; five grandchildren: Whyteakey Brown, Lee Reed, Kizzy Jones (McKenzie), Larry Belcher, and Cassandra Belcher (Cedric), all of Blakely; sixteen great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Hattie Thomas (Milton) of Quincy, Florida, Shirley T. Battle of Blakely, Georgia, and Lillie Mae Brown of Hollywood, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; and two special friends, Victoria Igles and Weeda Boozer, both of Blakely.
