MASTER SERGEANT (RET.) WILLIE B. BOOKER was born December 11, 1954, to Roosevelt Booker Sr. and Jessie Mae Lyles Booker.
He was a native of Blakely, Georgia.
Willie attended the public schools of Early County, graduating in 1975. Upon graduation, he chose to serve his country and joined the United States Amy, where he served twenty-six years before retiring in 2001.
In March of 1976, he married Patricia Lindsey of Miami, Florida.
Willie and Patricia raised their three children until the day she departed life in 2001.
After retirement, “Smoke” enjoyed Fishing, Cooking on the Grill and playing his daily lotto aka “donating”, as he would say, to the Georgia Scholarship Fund.
In June of 2004, Willie and Bernice “Missy” were united in Holy Matrimony. Bernice had children from a previous marriage whom he loved and helped raise as his own. She truly upheld her vows by being there by his side through sickness and in health.
Early on August 25, 2021, Willie was called Home to be with his Heavenly Father whom he knew and loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Booker Sr. and Jessie Mae Lyles Booker; brothers: Roosevelt “Coot” Booker Jr., Turner Gilbert, and Billy E. Jackson; sisters, Susie Baker and Shirley Hill; and daughter, Tynika T. Booker Gaston.
