Mable Lee Powell was born in Early County, GA on July 16, 1952 to the late Reverend Major and Lucy Powell.
After graduation from Washington High in June 1970, Mable enrolled in Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA and became employed with the United States Postal Service in October of 1970. Mable worked with the USPS while attending college and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Accounting. Mable continued to work with the USPS in several managerial level positions and retired after 37 years in December of 2007.
She was a member of Saint John AME Church where she served as a member of the Trustee Board, Steward Board, Choir and served as the Finance Secretary. Mable was also a member of several other civic groups, and was a enthusiastic fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Mable also served as the Correspondent Secretary for the Washington High School Class Alumni of 1970. Mable considered herself to be a servant to others which is God's purpose of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Holt; daughters: Shanavia and Sarah; grand pet Chloe and a host of other family and friends.
