Mattie H Williams

The Bible teaches us that we must leave this walk of life and cross over into our Eternal Home.  On Tuesday, March 28, 2017, Ms. Mattie Hazel Mills Williams was called Home to be with THE LORD.  If she was here, she would tell us, “Don’t cry; rejoice and be glad.  GOD needed another soldier to be in HIS army.  HE reached down and pulled me aside and said the time was right for my departure”.

Mattie Hazel Mills Williams was born into this earthly life on July 1, 1931 to the late Mr. Arnett Mills and the late Mrs. Allar Mae Glenn Mills.  She was a native of Blakely, Georgia. 

Mattie Hazel accepted CHRIST as her SAVIOR at an early age.  After graduating from Washington High School, she moved to New Jersey, where she continued to serve THE LORD and helping people anyway she could. After many years in New Jersey, Mattie Hazel moved to Burlington, North Carolina, where she soon joined the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and served until death.

Mattie Hazel was united in Holy Matrimony to Alexander “Ale” Williams, who preceded her in death.  She was also predeceased by one brother, Willie C. Mills, and two sisters, Lugreatha Mills and Earlene Mills Wright.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories:  two brothers, Arnett Mills Jr. (Gladsy) of Burlington, North Carolina and William Hutchins of Plant City, Florida; two sisters, Emma Louise Mills Wynn of Blakely, Georgia and Jessie M. Jenkins of Orlando, Florida; one niece; a host of nephews; and a special friend/neighbor, Ms. Frances Pettiford of Burlington, North Carolina.
