“Now that the laborer’s task is over. Now the battle is won.
FATHER grant the wearied one rest forever more.”
Mitchell Levatt was born on December 11, 1951, to the late Roosevelt and Daisy Levatt. He had four brothers to precede his death; they were Charlie, Johnny, Eddie and Bobby Dawson.
Mitchell was a graduate of Washington High School. After graduating, he joined the military, where he served until he was no longer able. He returned to live in Blakely in 2014, where he spent the remainder of his life with his sisters Louise Conway and Rosa Quinn.
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce that Mitchell passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, after battling the effects of a brain aneurysm.
He leaves to cherish his memories four siblings: Rosa Quinn of Blakely, GA, James Levatt (Deloris) of Albany, GA, Louise Conway of Blakely, GA, and Hattie Crawford of Brooklyn, NY. He fathered no children; however, he leaves behind an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.
