Otis (Snap) Jones, Jr.

Otis “Snap” Jones Jr. was born September 29, 1956, in Blakely, Georgia, to the late Otis Jones Sr. and Mary Dean Terrell Jones.  Snap departed his earthly life on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Snap spent his early childhood in Blakely, where he was first introduced and became aware of the importance of having a relationship with our LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.  He was a member of the New Genesis Generation Church in Thomasville, Georgia, where Bishop Joe Frank Burns is Pastor.

He attended elementary school at Washington Elementary and graduated from Early County High School in 1974.  Snap was employed as a Carpenter for many years.  Snap truly loved his family.  He would speak to his brother Tracy on the phone several times a day and even more during football season.  He was preceded in death by four of his siblings:  Terry Jones, Sheila Jones, Jerry Jones, and Barbara Ann Favors.

Snap leaves to treasure his memories his wife, Catherine Jones of Boston, Ga; one daughter, Lashantay Jones of Blakely, GA; one son, Johnny Jones of Columbus, GA; one stepdaughter, Shoneyale Bently of Thomasville, GA; three grandchildren: Tarius Jones, Janeisia Bush, both of Blakely, and Acen Amir Jones of Columbus, GA; three great grandchildren:  Navaeh Bush, Tasiedon Reed, and Tekeviye Jones, all of Blakely; one sister, Mary Carolyn Hall of Atlanta, GA; three brothers: Willie Charles “Yull” Jones, Edward Jones (Monique), both of Blakely, and Tracy Jones (Denise) of Palmetto, GA; two aunts, Hazel Johnson and Linda James, both of Blakely; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
