Peter Richard Harris

Peter R. Harris, 92, of Blakely, Ga, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Early Memorial Nursing Home.

Mr. Harris was born May 13, 1924, in Blakely, Ga to Marcellous and Mattie T. Harris. He served as a Steward at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church and as a member of the Prayer Band and the Pleasant Grove Singing Convention. He was also a member of Nimrod Lodge #356 in Gordon, Alabama.

Survivors include His four sons: Thomas Harris (Sarah) of Franklinton, North Carolina, Richard Harris (Glynda) of Blakely, Georgia, George Harris (Linda) of Tallahassee, Florida, and Sylvester Harris (Natalie) of Lilburn, Georgia; One daughter, Carolyn Brown (Andrew) of Covington, Georgia; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Harris of Paterson, New Jersey.

Funeral Services was Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11a.m. At community Funeral Home with Fred Moore Officiating. Interment at Green Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers were Andrew Brown Jr, Charles Coklow, Versie Coklow, Jon Daniels, Roderick Harris, Shea Harris.
