Rosa Mae Hill was born to Pelmon Thomas Sr. and Rosa Lee Thomas on October 15, 1946, in Blakely, Georgia. Rosa Mae grew up with great love and devotion for her GOD, her family, her community and her fishing. As a devoted member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, she was angel to so many.
She earned her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia. Her degree complimented her love for children and her passion to teach others.
Family meant everything to Rosa Mae. After meeting the love of her life, Willie James Hill (her devoted husband), she gave birth to three wonderful children: Francenia L. Hill, Willie James Hill Jr., and Carol A. Hill. The love for her family kept her thriving.
On August 23, 2017, Rosa Mae was given the ultimate honor by GOD–she was chosen to join HIM in Heaven. Rosa Mae leaves to cherish and celebrate her life and memories her loving husband Willie James Hill Sr.; daughters Francenia L. Hill and Carol A. Hill; stepson Ricky Efford; grandchildren Rosalyn D. Hill, Rachelle D. Favors (Brandon), Rochelle D. Hill, Symiaha A. Clinton and Keino O. Young II; five great grandchildren; siblings Charles Thomas, Priscilla Thomas-Ricks, Pelmon Thomas Jr., Patricia Freeman and Karen Jones; aunts Charlie Mae Henderson and Mini Lee Stringer; and several loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. Rosa Mae was preceded in death by her mother Rosalee (Davis) Thomas; her father Pelmon Thomas Sr.; her son Willie James Hill Jr.; her siblings Willie Earl Thomas and Bruce Davis; her aunts Carolyn Thomas, Bonnie Ree Williams and Julia Thomas; and her uncles Dennis C. Davis, Eugene Davis, L. J. Davis and James Davis.
Rosa Mae was the epitome of love and joy. Her sweet and comforting demeanor gave grace to an entire community. Our angel here on earth is now an angel in Heaven.
