Sarah Jane (Upson) Marshall

Sarah Upson Marshall was born October 19, 1949, in Blakely, Georgia to the late Eddie and Mary Lizzie Upson. She lived most of her life in Columbus, Georgia.

She departed her earthly life on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Retired SSG Bobby Joe Marshall, baby son Melvin Upson, sisters Betty Upson and Annette Upson, brothers Willie Upson and Walter C. Upson, nephews Adrian Upson, Senorris Upson and Robert Jones, and nieces Shewanna Upson and Latosha Gilbert.

Sarah leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Monica Marshall and Angenette Marshall Miles (Anthony), both of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren: Mahogany Marshall, Jahbrel Marshall, Anthony Miles, and Adrianna Miles; seven great grandchildren; three brothers: Leroy Upson (Patricia), Eddie B. Upson (Gwen), both of St. Petersburg, FL, and Johnny Upson of Blakely, GA; four sisters: Eddie Mae Jones of Jacksonville, FL, Annie Dora Gilbert of West Palm Beach, FL, Johnnie Mae Powell (Tommie C.) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Jeanette Upson of Blakely, GA; five brothers-in-law: Solomon Brown, William Bouges, Lewis Marshall (Kris), all of Minneapolis, MN, Kelly Marshall (Denise) of Augusta, GA, and Mitchell Marshall of Blakely, GA; two nieces/goddaughters, Shamone "Poochie" Upson of Blakely, GA and Detinna Marshall Webb of Columbus, GA; one godson, Rodney Foster of Columbus, GA; and extended family, The Fosters. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and longtime friends.
