Sarah Elizabeth Robinson

Sarah Elizabeth Powell Robinson born in Blakely, Georgia on July 29, 1947, to the parents of the late Reverend Major and Lucy (Hunter) Powell, the third of six children. After graduating from Washington High School in 1965 Blakely Georgia Sarah moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut and later to Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey where he attended and graduated from nursing school. She met and married Lawrence Robinson June 29, 1974 and moved to Englewood, New Jersey. Sarah passion was medical technology dealing with the heart in which she took several courses and training in ECHO, becoming supervisor of Englewood Hospital Laboratory in which she worked for 40 years. After retiring in 2012 she worked at the Advanced Cardiology Institute and Dr. David Hodges and Dr. Ronald Strobel practice.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Bethlehem AME church in Blakely Georgia. She attended several churches but joined in 1988 Redeeming Love Christian Center where she work faithfully in the Faith Book Store.

Sarah always displayed a positive attitude and was generous, considerate and sincere.

Her motto was if she could help somebody along the way her living would not be in vain.

She helped many achieved their goals especially in the family.

Her achievements were not important, her relationship with god was what mattered.

She loved reading, art and crafts, flower arrangements knitting and decorating. Her last words were “All is well”.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Major Powell, Jr. and Franklin Powell

She is survived by her husband Lawrence Robinson, sisters Bessie (James) Martin, Mary Powell and Mable (Ronald) Holt,  Four sister –in- laws  Dorothy, Lula, Mae and Elease, one brother-in law Louis Robinson several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers a Sarah Robinson Scholarship Fund is being created under Washington High School Scholarship Foundation for students in Blakely Georgia that would like to pursue training in medical technology.
