DEACON SINCLAIR LEWIS was born on April 6, 1946, to Steve and Hattie Lewis.
He grew up in Early County, Georgia, and attended Washington High School.
Sinclair was united in Holy Matrimony to Bertha Echols-Lewis for 52 years. To their union were born four children: Diane Tinson (Timothy), Raybon Lewis, Teketa Lewis, all of Blakely, Georgia, and Ralph Lewis of Petersburg, VA.
Sinclair was employed with Georgia Pacific for 29 years until he retired. He also enjoyed farming. He was a member of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie J. Kegler, serving actively as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raybon Lewis and Samuel Lewis; four sisters: Bessie Mae George, Gwendolyn Freeman, Pollie Walker, and Etta Jackson; and one granddaughter, Ciera James.
Sinclair departed his earthly life on Friday, March 27, 2020, at his home in Blakely, Georgia.
In addition to his wife and children, Sinclair also leaves to cherish his memories six grandchildren: William of Las Vegas, NV, Raybon Jr., Daisha, Kameron, all of Akron, OH, Malik, and Rodney, both of Blakely, GA; three great grands: Demarion, Isaiah, and Malik Jr.; three brothers: Ray Mack Lewis (Marion), Roy Lewis, both of Muskogee, OK, and Louis Hunter (Linda) of Blakely, GA; three sisters: Thelma Lewis of Blakely, GA, Mae Bell Stewart of Columbia, AL, and Savannah Lewis-Walker of Dothan, AL; four sisters-in-law: Marion Williams (Arthur), Patricia Butler, both of Damascus, GA, Betty Jones (Melvin) of Atlanta, GA, and Mary Ann Pryor of Blakely, GA; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nephews, other family members and friends.
