Reverend Donald Kenneth McBurrows, Sr. was born on August 9, 1954, in Moultrie, Georgia, as the ninth child to Sam McBurrows, Sr. and Corene Jones McBurrows.
He was reared and raised in Doerun, Georgia, where he excelled as an outstanding athlete during his high school tenure.
Reverend McBurrows entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, May 8, 2020.
Revernd McBurrows worked as a gifted diesel mechanic in the ‘80s at Southeastern Stages Charter Bus Service. He entered into ministry as a Messenger of GOD on May 13, 2001, and was ordained by Rev. Johnny E. McBurrows on August 25, 2002. Reverend McBurrows served as a devoted and dedicated servant of THE LORD, bringing encouragement and guidance to all who was willing to receive.
On October 10, 1980, Donald united in marriage with the love of his life, Dorothy Ann Jacobs. In 1984, they welcomed their first bundle of joy by the name of Octavia Nicole. In 1987, they welcomed their first son Donald Kenneth Jr. Three years later, 1990, they had their second daughter Arnesha Bell. Finally, they were blessed with a double portion, the twins, Krystal Iesha and Christopher Isaiah.
Reverend McBurrows was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Sam McBurrows, Jr. and Willie McBurrows.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Dorothy Ann Jacobs-McBurrows; three daughters: Octavia McBurrows, Arnesha McBurrows, and Krystal McBurrows; two sons, Donald McBurrows, Jr. and Christopher McBurrows; five sisters: Annie Bell Wheeler (Robert) of Snellville, Georgia, Christine Austin, Alberta Moss (Aubrey), Gladys Jacobs (Johnny), all of Atlanta, Georgia, and Margaret Anderson of Decatur, Georgia; one brother, Johnny McBurrows (Augustine) of Douglasville, Georgia; seven sisters-in-law: Carrie Pearl McBurrows of Moultrie, Georgia, Ellen Williams of Suwannee, Georgia, Marie Miller of Tampa, Florida, Charlotte Atkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Fannie Brown (Clarence), Linda Hunter (Louis), and Brenda Jacobs, all of Blakely, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Claudie Jacobs (Hazel) of Atlanta, Georgia; one niece and two nephews to whom he was an honorary father-figure: Charmaine LaKesha Atkins, James Eric McBurrows, and Antwane DeShun Jacob; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, and family.
