Thedjuana McDaniel Obituary

Alpha:  Thedjuana Omika McDaniel was born on November 21, 1974, in Blakely, Georgia, to Min. Annie Jewel McDaniel and the Late Bro. Maurice McDaniel. At an early age, she received CHRIST as her PERSONAL SAVIOR and joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Bozell Reed. She later moved her membership to Union Church in Bluffton, Georgia, under the leadership of Dr. John Davis.

— Dash:  Thedjuana graduated from Early County High School in 1993. She was one of the "Fab Five" players of the basketball team. After high school completion, she continued her studies at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College of Andalusia, Alabama, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She also was one of the starting players with the Lurleen B. Wallace Saints Basketball Team. Sports were her passion. She enjoyed playing and coaching basketball of all ages. She lead a team called the "Dream Team", and they brought home several trophies and medals. "Thee", as she was mostly known, was an awesome asset to the community when it came to leading and guiding children and pushingthese athletes to their full capabilities and potentials. Thee enjoyed traveling and outings with her family.

Omega:  On September 22, 2018, Thedjuana’s laboring hands were put to Rest, and she was called to a place where the wicked shall cease from troubling and weary shall be at rest. In addition to her father, several family members–namely, Mr. and Mrs. Costell McCoy, Mr. and Mrs. Watson McDaniel, Juanita Bryant, Ludie Respress and Watson McDaniel Jr.–preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted mother, Minister Annie Jewel McDaniel of Blakely, GA; one brother, Pastor Maurice McDaniel Jr. (Regina) of Donalsonville, GA; two sisters, Chrystal Shorter (Jerry) and Tabritta McDaniel, both of Blakely; a very special niece whom she loved as her own, London Sherman; an additional niece, Kelaya McDaniel; three nephews: Kailin McDaniel, Jailin McDaniel, and Tuwain Barber; eight aunts: Brenda Igles (Bobby), Jeanette McCoy, Lisa Johnson (Edward), Teresa Stamper (Teddi), Lawanda Fields (Terrance), La’Shun McCoy, all of Blakely, Pastor Marie Hart of Atlanta, GA, and Christine Covington (Floyd) of Dothan, AL; five uncles: Roscell McCoy, John McCoy, Claudell McCoy (Tina), all of Blakely, Elijah McCoy (Anna) of Bainbridge, GA, and Willie James McDaniel (Jean) of Hyannis, MA; three great aunts: Mamie James, Lucy Stovall, and Majorie Ogden (Clifford), all of Blakely; one great uncle, John L. McCoy (Trisha) of Blakely; and a host of sorrowing cousins and friends.
