Tommie C. Powell

Tommie C. Powell was born in Blakely, Early County, Georgia, on September 28, 1948.  He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Bayfront Hospital in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Tommie C. was the oldest son of Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Sarah Lee Graham Powell.  Along with his parents, two brothers, Marcellus Powell and Joe Nathan Powell, preceded him in death.

He worked at General Electric until his retirement.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving, caring and devoted wife, Johnnie Mae Upson Powell of St. Petersburg, FL; children:  Tonya Powell (Calvin Robinson), Mark Powell (Myya), Kimberli Jones (Ephraim Thompson Sr.), Tameka Jones, all of St. Petersburg, FL, Tavares Jones (Nina) of Bushnell, FL, and Portia Hamilton of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren:  Brejone Baker, Breonia Powell, Dwight Edwards Jr., Majiah Powell, Jasmine Thompson, Ephraim Thompson Jr., Lanahya Thompson, Jaden Thompson, Kalonee Williams, George Newton Jr., Tyetinna Newton, Gabarrie Newton, Jamarion Newton, Makayla Jones, Malina Jones, Casana Jones, Lavarie Jones, T`Keyah Ingram, Danielle Hamilton, and Deyonni Hamilton; great grandchild, Zayden Powell; siblings:  Benjamin Powell, Ether Roy Powell, Carolyn Powell, Debra Powell, all of St. Petersburg, FL, Elois Powell-Stevens, Ralph Powell (Lovetta), Edward Charles Powell (Pastor Lillie P.), Linda Powell, Mary Powell-Allen (J. J.), Billy Powell (Glenda), all of Blakely, GA, and Charlene Powell-Smith of Jacksonville, FL; nephews and nieces whom his parents raised:  Lamar Powell (Brandi) of Dothan, AL, Melody Powell-Jay (Jonathan), Shenequa Powell, and Andre Powell (Cynthia), all of Blakely, GA; a special friend, Charlene McCray of St. Petersburg, FL; and a host of other nephews, other nieces, cousins and friends.
