Sister Vivian Louise Mitchell was born to the late Mr. Johnny Gilbert and Mrs. Louella Green Gilbert on January 17, 1942, in Clay County, Georgia. At an early age, she met and married the late Joseph Mitchell.
Vivian at an early age joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Clay County, Georgia. Later she joined Glorious Community Holiness Church under the leadership of (her boy) Pastor Eddie Stapleton Sr. and was a faithful member until her health started failing her.
She departed her earthly life on March 19, 2022, at Southeast Health Center in Dothan, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her sister Leona Sellers, her nephew Douglas Sellers, and her son-in-law Lee Bankston.
She leaves to cherish her memories five daughters: Sallie Mitchell, Christine Bankston, Bonnie Mitchell, Maggie Stapleton (Eddie Sr.), and Stacy Mitchell, all of Blakely, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two nieces, Margaret Johnson (Earnest) and Patricia Randolph (Bobby), both of Jacksonville, Florida; one nephew, Raymond Sellers (Kimberly) of Jacksonville, Florida; a special friend, Mysin Harris; and a host of other family members and friends.
