Willie Conley Jr. Obituary

Willie Arthur Conley Jr. was born to Ms. Lois Smith Conley on September 23, 1980, in Blakely, Georgia. He attended school there in Blakely at Early County Elementary, Middle and High Schools. Affectionately known as "Lil’ Will" by his mother and grandparents and as "Big Will" and by his friends, Willie was known for his fun-loving nature and for his desire to help anyone in need. Even more so, he was known for his sincere and steadfast love for his family and friends.

Showing a quick ability to learn and do anything he put his mind to, Willie excelled in many talents. However, along those lines, his "true love" was that of music. That love was so strong that he endeavored in writing songs and making music, one of his most enjoyable pastimes and a career he no doubt would have pursued if afforded greater opportunity and time. In his words and true to his desire to help people, he wanted to "make music that makes people happy while expressing life in its purest and fullest terms".

With his physical departure from our presence, Willie leaves behind a loving mother, Sister Lois Smith Conley, who will miss her "baby boy" more than words can ever say but who also knows the peace he rests in while awaiting his time with his FATHER in Heaven. In addition, he leaves behind three proud uncles (Alex Smith Jr., Willie D. Smith and Willie Sol Sr.) and four loving aunts (Dorothy Smith, Lucille Sol, Mildred Bailey and Lorene Smith), who will miss their nephew but remember his love for them. He also leaves behind a loving fiancé, Ms. Kenisha Harrison, who was with him to the end. Likewise, he leaves behind children who will miss their father but who will also know he loved them to the utmost, regardless of situations and circumstances. Willie also leaves behind siblings (Jandra and Dela–preceding him in death, Delois, Lovora (husband Randy) and George) who will no longer be able to have those playful moments together with him but will know and remember the love and care that was and is always present in his memory. And, for the many friends and loved ones (among them, nieces Kemyra, Jada and Sevora) who were blessed with his presence in their lives, please know that your friend and uncle loved each of you and only wanted the best for you.

The tears that are shed as we look to Willie’s departure and homegoing are painstaking, in that his time with us was so seemingly short. However, those same tears are of happiness and joy, due to the fact that his concerns and worries regarding the "ups and downs" of life are no more. Willie–you are free, and those who love you so dearly pray for you that sought-after peace that surpasses all understanding. And finally, we glorify GOD for you and all that you are to us.
